This should all be common practice by now, but I would like to further reinforce the expectations regarding raid preparation. The list below represents a mandatory checklist for raiding. Each guildmate is individually responsible for insuring they meet these requirements for each raid they attend.
The purpose is pretty straightforward. We respect guildmates time. By following this checklist and adhering to these expectations, we are striving as a guild to make the very most of our raid time together. By striving to meet these expectations, we are showing through our actions a true respect for fellow guildmates time.
Raid Checklist/Expectations:
1) Punctuality: Show up at the raid location at least 15 minutes prior to raid start time. Be ready to pull 5 minutes before listed raid start time. If you cannot make that time, communicate in advance via the webpage, whispers, PM's, whatever.
Don't mess around until 5 minutes prior to raid and ask for a summons. Just plan on each raid night being 3.5 hours. Reserve that half hour in advance to prepare for the raid, gather gear, and get to the raid location.
2) Gear and Consumables: We have a full bank and guild of resources to assist with flasks/elixirs/potions/food. You should always have food buffs and flask/elixir buffs up during a raid for both trash and bosses. Show up:
- Fully repaired (lack of cash is no excuse)
- Full reagents for buffing
- Appropriate flasks and/or elixirs
- Food buffs
- Healing Potions
- Mana Potions (for people who use mana)
- Bandages
3) Fully Gemmed & Enchanted: All gear which has gem slots are expected to have the appropriate gems and enchantments. All faction slot enchants and regular items via enchanters should be taken care of. Lack fo gold is no excuse. Do dailies, do quests, generate cash. If you are unsure or need help, get it. Consult IMBA for some suggestions:

4) Strats Read: Know your role and know the encounters. If you lack basic knowledge of the encounter which has been posted on the webpage for over a month with videos to make it as easy as possible, then that is your fault and it needs to be fixed. We should be reaching the point to where strategies no longer have to be explained each time. We walk into a boss room, we designate roles, and we do it, plain and simple.
5) Appropriate Add-ons: Some add ons are a matter of preference such as Grid versus X-perl, etc. But some are key:
Omen
Deadly Boss Mods
Decursive (for decursers)
In a nutshell, have all the information you require at a glance. If you cannot see debuff effects to react and keep guildmates or yourself alive, then it needs to be fixed.
6) Ventrilo with headset that works: Having a headset so you can verbally communicate to guildmates is a good start. Having the settings tweaked so it doesn't sound like a wind tunnel when you speak is preferred.
7) Minimal AFK's: Fast and furious clears, that means minimal AFK's. In a 3 hour timespan, we will take designated AFK pauses. Other then that, please avoid going AFK unless a real life situation demands it. If you must go AFK, then let the raid know.
Raid Sit-outs:
As a guild, we try to be polite and post repeated reminders, send people tells, etc. But there has to be a certain point of accountability and consequences. If we see players who repeatedly ignore these expectations, and cannot meet them, we will first send a verbal reminder. If this persists, we will give a verbal warning. If even that clear sign is ignored, we shall bench the player from raiding. Or if we have a raid with an overflow of players, the first people who will be sitting are the ones that struggle to follow these expectations. I do not see this as unfair or that by asking this, we are somehow a "hardcore" guild. These are basic and simple expectations that everyone in the guild can meet with a little effort. That is exactly what is expected here, a little individual effort.
